The event, established as the premier manufacturing awards in the region, was supported by SEMLEP, the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership. This has been a significant year for GEPE. It has continued to grow its sales, its workforce, its infrastructure and its production capacity.
The company’s expansion plans impressed the judges and its commitment to developing its staff and forging close links with local schools to promote engineering as a career. GEPE’s technical director Scott Bredda said: “This award is a great achievement for everyone at GEPE and is recognition for all our hard work and commitment.”
GEPE was founded by engineer Garry Edwards. Since then the company has grown from an initial team of four to 28, and is now working on a number of projects that will see it extend its impact across the automotive sector.
GEPE now has a chance to compete against other regional winners in the Made in the UK ceremony taking place next month (July).
